THE MUSEUM PROJECT
My largest project so far was the creation of a Museum piece. The space and floorplan chosen for this project was the large Broadstone bus depot. This site was chosen for its large and spacious facilities. The Museum was that of a Dungeons & Dragons fantasy tour. It was designed to bring patrons on a journey through a fantasy land that would truly immerse them. Transporting them to another realm. On their journey, attendees will enter the royal reception, with gothic arches and magical flora. After entering they will stroll through many wondrous environments. From the brooding Underdark, filled with creatures of the night. To the shimmering Underwater planes, coming face to face with monsters of the deep. Through to the firey Hellscape of the Nine Hells, towered over by benevolent demons. All filled with lifesized models and statues.
Attendees can freshen up and grab food in the Medieval-themed Tavern, to fill up and enjoy live music, where special themed events could be held. The museum also features a large auditorium where events or performances can be held.
The broad nature of the source material allowed me to experiment with many different design aesthetics that would need to conform to the theme of each area.
The museum required careful planning and flow of experience as the clients would wander through many different lands, seeking to keep them stimulated and intrigued along the way. Keeping everything fitting with the fantasy theme, every element of the museum would conform to that idea
